Anthony M. Sellitto, JR., ESQ.

 

   

PROFILE 

 

Mr. Sellitto received a Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova University in 1968 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1971. Mr. Sellitto was admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey in 1972 and is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and in the Federal District Court for the State of New Jersey. 

 

     From 1971 to 1972, Mr. Sellitto served a judicial clerkship under the Hon. Joseph B. Sugrue, the criminal assignment judge of Essex County. He then served as an assistant prosecutor with the Union County Prosecutor's office from 1972 until 1975. Mr. Sellitto has been in private practice since 1975. While in private practice, Mr. Sellitto has served as municipal prosecutor in Lacey, Ocean, Brick and Jackson Townships and as the municipal public defender in Little Egg Harbor Township.

 

Mr. Sellitto is a member of the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Chapter of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA-NJ).

 

For the last four years, Mr. Sellitto has been selected by his peers as a Personal Injury SuperLawyer©, naming him as one of the top personal injury attorneys in the State. (N.J. Monthly Magazine - 2005 to 2008).

 

Mr. Sellitto has lectured on numerous occasions at continuing legal education seminars for organizations including the National Association of Trial Lawyers of America, The New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and ATLA-NJ. Mr. Sellitto has also lectured for the National Center for Victims of Crime and the Voices of September 11th on the rights of the surviving families and victims of September 11th.

 

Mr Sellitto is co-counsel in the case of Burnett v Al Baraka Investment, a suit filed by over 6,500 family members and injured from September 11th. Mr. Sellitto's participation is as an authority on the presentation of damage claims. Defendants in the case include Saudi businessmen, banks and charities alleged to have aided the funding of terrorism. This unique wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit is intended to stop the funding of terrorism.

 

     Mr. Sellitto is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Monmouth County Bar Association and the Ocean County Bar Association where he serves on the Ocean County Civil Practice Committee. 

 

Mr. Sellitto has been in private practice for 34 years and has been Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney for 24 years.
